About My Clients
I work with adults, couples, and professionals who feel overextended, disconnected, or weighed down by trauma, caregiving, or identity stress. Many of my clients are helpers themselves—clinicians, educators, parents, or advocates—seeking balance and belonging. Together, we slow down, reconnect to what matters, and create space for genuine rest and self-trust.
My Background and Approach
I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience in trauma recovery, suicide prevention, and LGBTQIA2S+ mental health. My approach is grounded in attachment theory, DBT, and systemic trauma work—helping clients understand how early experiences and cultural pressures shape current relationships and emotional patterns. With two PhDs (in Marriage & Family Therapy and Clinical Sexology) and national leadership roles in suicide prevention, I blend evidence-based practice with compassion and clarity. I create therapy spaces where you can untangle past pain, strengthen emotional safety, and move toward sustainable wellbeing. I offer in-person and virtual sessions for clients in NY, VA, and SC, and welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe growth and healing are possible at every stage of life, even when circumstances don’t change. As the mother and primary caregiver of my adult daughter, who lives with significant physical disabilities, I’ve learned that resilience isn’t about “fixing” what hurts—it’s about finding meaning, balance, and peace within what is. That experience deeply shapes how I show up as a therapist: grounded, patient, and real. I understand exhaustion, grief, and love can coexist. In my practice, I hold space for people caring for others, rebuilding after loss, or feeling overwhelmed by the demands of life. I’m a proud member and advocate of the LGBTQIA+ and disability communities, and I believe therapy should be accessible, affirming, and free of judgment. If you’re looking for a place to breathe, rest, and reconnect with yourself, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
