About My Clients

My clients are everyday heroes who have been hurt by life and are still brave enough to ask for help. We don't get to choose what happens to us, but we have all the power when it comes to what we do as a result. It is possible to survive breakups, losses, divorce and major life transitions and come out stronger and with dignity and respect for all. How we treat ourselves and one another creates the world we live in.

My Background and Approach

I employ a range of modalities including Gestalt, Reality, Systems and Solution Focused therapies balanced with respectful Compassionate Inquiry. I continue on my own journey of learning and exploration so that I can help you with yours. My educational background includes a MA in Counseling from Regis University, a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado, and multiple continuing education certification courses. I believe we are never done learning. After working in residential addictions, I am currently in private practice in Denver, Colorado. During COVID-19 I am available for Tele-health video sessions and also by phone, according to the client’s preference and privacy needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

“Have your happy childhood now.” From the time we were small children, we were handed a script of how we should behave in the world. That’s how we got noticed and rewarded, for better or for worse. We absorbed the beliefs of important others and became programmed according to their expectations. Our survival depended on it. But is that script still true for us today? Are we playing a role in someone else’s play? Are we accepting someone else’s limitations of us? Are we stuck in the past and reliving old patterns? I believe the purpose of therapy is to grow up and step into our lives with fullness, freedom and responsibility. Blame is useless but awareness is priceless. Bad things happen to all of us, to one degree or another. What we do about it makes us either a victim or a hero. We love stories of overcoming enormous obstacles because that is what we are meant to do.
