Aging is a reminder that we are closer to the end of our journey than the beginning and a summons to spend our remaining time with intention and purpose. Our latter years can be some of our most fulfilling when we're no longer preoccupied with personal insecurities and conquest. Life can become a peaceful, slower, more gentle time of reflection, appreciation, gratitude for what life has taught us and an opportunity to share love and wisdom with others.
We don't get to choose what happens to us in life, but we have all the power when it comes to what we do about it. I will work with you to help you find compassion for yourself and others as you navigate the waters of change. It is possible to survive loss, divorce, breakups as well as unexpected circumstances and come out stronger and with dignity and respect for all. A major change is a summons to get honest and in touch with what's important, and then live it.
Self-esteem is the building block of every relationship and the predictor of success and happiness. Our self-esteem develops in childhood as a result of interactions with important others. It then creates our story and determines how we interact with the world. If our story of us is outdated and flawed it can hold us back and cause great suffering for ourselves and others. Correcting self-esteem gets the story straight and is the starting point for effective change.
