About My Clients
I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, perfectionism, self-criticism/self-esteem, family of origin issues, and trauma-related concerns. In therapy, we will work toward symptom management and relief, but also toward a life filled with greater purpose, meaning, and contentment. My Background and Approach
I work from a relational interpersonal process (IPT) approach, integrated with self-compassion and intersectional multicultural theories. I also specialize in positive psychology approaches, which can be used to help you to strive toward well-being, rather than solely treating symptoms. I seek to build a genuine relationship with each of my clients, through a warm and curious therapeutic style. I will tailor therapy to your specific needs, as I do not believe in treatment that is one-size-fits-all. I understand that therapy (and vulnerability in general) can be an incredibly difficult process, and I aim to hold space for each of my clients to feel seen, empowered, and understood.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice from an intersectional multicultural/feminist approach. I am social justice oriented, and will seek to explore your various identities and how they may be impacting your sense of self throughout our time together. I graduated from a Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program that held high emphasis on multiculturally competent research and clinical training. I will follow your lead on what identities you would like to explore in therapy, while also seeking ways to empower you to explore identities you may not have felt safe to explore in other spaces.
