Whether trauma has occurred due to a history of abuse, domestic violence, developmental events in childhood, intergenerational trauma, immigration/acculturation trauma, or single trauma events, the process to healing a trauma narrative is highly personal and requires a holistic approach to nourish the whole person: body, mind, and heart.
Codependency struggles are intimately related to attachment styles and self-esteem. Often a byproduct of family dynamics and childhood experiences, codependency can create crippling effects if left untreated. I continue to develop my professional knowledge of trauma care and interventions through yearly educational events and seek to apply a trauma informed-lens to all the support services I provide.
I received extensive training in CBT interventions in my master level clinical studies and have continued to study this method throughout my professional career. Through the years I’ve expanded the application of CBT to integrate body-based therapies, to weave a holistic approach that incorporates important emotional and physical elements into the cognitive-behavioral context.
