About My Clients
You worked hard to build a life before immigrating. You had a career, relationships, routines, and a clear sense of who you were. Now you feel isolated, uncertain, and disconnected from yourself. The drive that once pushed you forward feels harder to find, and you're wondering whether you'll ever feel at home again. If you're struggling to balance where you came from with the life you're creating here, you're not alone. Together, we can help you find your way back to yourself.
My Background and Approach
As an immigrant myself, I understand that adjusting to life in a new country is about much more than learning a new language or culture. It can affect your identity, confidence, relationships, and sense of direction. I left behind my own career, stability, and family, and it took years to reconnect with myself. For over 25 years, I have helped adults work through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight oriented. Together, we'll explore how your experiences, culture, relationships, and immigration journey have shaped the way you see yourself and move through the world. I approach each client with cultural humility. I don't assume I know your culture or experience. Instead, I invite you to teach me about your world as we work toward a life that feels meaningful and authentic.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make sense in the context of their life experiences. Many of the struggles we carry as adults began as ways of adapting to difficult circumstances, painful relationships, or significant losses. Rather than judging those patterns, I believe in approaching them with curiosity, compassion, and a desire to understand their purpose. As an immigrant, I know firsthand that major life transitions can reshape your identity, relationships, and sense of belonging. This experience taught me the importance of resilience, cultural humility, and remaining open to different ways of seeing the world. I approach each client with genuine curiosity and a belief that you are the expert on your own culture and lived experience. Outside of therapy, I value family, lifelong learning, travel, and exploring different cultures. I believe growth is possible at any stage of life and that greater self awareness can help us live with more freedom, authenticity, and connection to ourselves and others
