About My Clients
My clients are typically teens and young adults who are seeking a better understanding of themselves, motivation, and purpose. They are also interested in improving relationships with their family or origin and making new relationships. I also work with individual men and women who are struggling with anxiety and feeling stuck in unfulfilling lives. I help them use their own strengths and resources to conquer their problems and create better futures.
My Background and Approach
In my work, I use a combination of strength-based Solution-Focused Therapy, which offers clients a clear and measurable goal and steps towards solutions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is also used to reframe how one views a situation and therefore alters their behavior to improve that situation. In these processes, one uses their dormant tools, talents, and ideas. By providing a systemic lens on the family dynamic, I assist families to understand how past patterns affect them today. It’s only when we recognize our "part of the whole," that we can understand our role and how best to create new patterns to bring us peace and happiness. When working with my clients who have a negative self-image or deal with traumatic pasts, I use the powerful metaphor of story in the Narrative Therapy Approach. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Haven Family Therapy is a family therapy practice in South Florida with presences both in Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale. I inspire healing in my community by empowering teens, individuals, and families to recognize their worth and improve their relationships so they can live happier and more fulfilled lives. I tailor each session to the needs of my English and Portuguese-speaking clients, using the most useful therapeutic techniques, all within a safe and nurturing setting. My passion is to create a healing space for my clients to experience personal growth, self-love, and a deeper understanding of their purpose in life.
