About My Clients
Your brain has done an excellent job keeping you safe through so many things. Now the same thoughts and behaviors that kept you safe are no longer doing you much service. Let’s take some time to find those things, honor them, and replace them with new strategies. Family discord, medical illnesses, discrimination, undiagnosed anxiety/adhd, toxic work environments, and the like can all add up to have similar impacts as bigger traumas, especially when dealing with more than one simultaneously.
My Background and Approach
I have safe and effective strategies to help move toward a more emotionally regulated place. I have worked with all ages in numerous psychiatric hospitals, hospices, schools, pediatric medical hospitals, and adult outpatient settings. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, perfectionism, parenting, coping with chronic illnesses, and all manner of change of life support. I am able to provide art therapy, talk therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for a variety of trauma and issues of overcontrol. I have spent more than a decade working with IUPUI’s graduate art therapy program as a professor and a clinical supervisor. I am currently seeing both in office and via tele-therapy Mondays and Wednesdays 8:30a-3:30p. Walk and talk available when the weather allows for it .
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy only works if you feel personally connected to it. I am an art therapist, but first and foremost I am a creative thinker. I love to help people find fun and creative ways to talk about issues that have previously been too daunting to approach alone. Let’s build something something meaningful together!
