About My Clients
In my practice, I support individuals that are impacted by trauma, chronic illness, body image, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and feelings of low self-worth. I focus on building an empathic relationship with my clients to align their physical, mental, emotional, and social goals with therapy.
My Background and Approach
I am an affirming, person-centered, trauma-informed clinician. I aim to hold a compassionate, honest space that allows you to reach your goals and build on your strengths. I believe integrating mindfulness and the body into our work can be a powerful way connect to yourself and support healing from trauma. I am incredibly grateful to be able to work with individuals impacted by trauma as it allows me to witness and connect with one's resilience, strength, and capacity to grow everyday. The three approaches/lens that I use most often are Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic, and a social justice lens. IFS and somatic approaches have been instrumental in my practice to support one's individual healing; using a social justice lens allows the client and I to address the systems of oppression and privilege that interact with healing. In my practice, I use an equitable pricing model as I believe therapy should be accessible to all and an intentional part of community care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy can be a great way to better understand how and why we respond to life in certain ways and how we can better use our strengths to support us. Every coping mechanism that you have, whether you view it as good or bad, is a strength because it has allowed you to survive to this point and that's pretty amazing. Those strengths will be powerful tools in therapy as they will help guide us to finding our authentic selves and the wounds that may need healing. I believe there are various ways to heal and therapy can be one way. Personally, I've used individual therapy and also energy healing, acupuncture, breath work, and group therapy to support my own healing. I love to collaborate with clients to learn how therapy and other outlets can support their goals. I'm grateful for the opportunity to hold space for clients to connect with themselves and heal.
