About My Clients
Parenting can be hard, beautiful, and exhausting, often all at once. It is a singular experience that teaches us about ourselves and our capacity for the fiercest love, deepest pain, and everything in between. You perhaps believe you are not enough, or you feel guilt for not being a better parent. Together we can work to increase your self-compassion and heal wounds that are preventing you from offering yourself the deep, abiding love each and every one of us deserves.
My Background and Approach
The entirety of my training and career has been focused on the perinatal population. I have completed perinatal mental health trainings via the Seleni Institute as well as with Postpartum Support International and completed my internship at a residential treatment facility focused on supporting mothers with substance use disorders. My approach is principally rooted in Person-centered, CBT, and psychodynamic approaches. My goal for our time together is to build a relationship centered on equality, respect, empathy and where you feel unconditionally accepted and safe. As we build this relationship, we will make use of various CBT techniques (such as journaling, identifying cognitive distortions) to address current symptoms and reduce distress. We will also identify the life experiences that have shaped your beliefs and made you the person you are today, and explore how these beliefs are helping or harming you on your journey towards a life of fulfillment and connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of connection. I believe that change and growth are possible within the context of a safe and nurturing relationship. I believe that you are enough. I believe in justice and equality for all, without exception. I see the pain and trauma our society has normalized but still hold hope for healing and change. I believe nature heals our bodies, minds, and souls.
