About My Clients

I provide a safe and affirming space for adults who are looking to deepen their self-understanding, practice self-compassion, process emotions, and connect with various parts of themselves. I can support you through processing complex emotions, connect with those emotions in your body, and help you increase your sense of self-trust. I enjoy working with folks from the LGBTQIA+ community and with anyone who has experienced feeling like they "don't belong."

My Background and Approach

I take a collaborative, trauma-informed, and non-pathologizing approach to therapy while drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Compassion Focused modalities. I believe we are made up of multiple parts that we can learn to listen to and connect with. I believe that when we make space to listen and build a relationship with parts of ourselves, we tend to feel more grounded, confident, and generally "better." I believe it is important to feel seen and understood by your therapist in order to feel safe to explore difficult/traumatic experiences and work to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. I have over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations and presenting concerns. I have training in ACT, IFS, mindfulness, LGBTQ+ affirming therapy, and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy in collaboration with a psychiatrist.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe all humans are born with an inherent inner-knowing that can get buried under layers of learned coping strategies that probably helped us get through painful experiences. I believe therapy is a tool that can help us slow down and sift through what makes up those layers, why you've had to pick them up along the way, and how they've served you. I believe giving these layers space and emotional validation is what can actually help them soften and be open to trying out some new ways of being/coping. I believe all LGBTQIA+ person deserves an affirming therapy space to explore their story. In my personal life, I enjoy connecting through music, playing the guitar, doodling, spending time with loved ones (including my cats and chickens), and like to share small pieces of my personality in my work.
