About My Clients
These are challenging times and much that we’ve taken for granted - health, finances, career, life dreams - may suddenly feel elusive and precarious. I dedicate my work to helping identify and challenge your obstacles, whether from current turmoil (e.g. trauma, grief, covid) relationship, or ongoing existential themes about life purpose/calling/stuckness. My calling is to help you regain or to develop for the first time, a sense of center and to support you as you pursue your life goals.
My Background and Approach
Certified in Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapies (IPT) therapies, I draw from traditional psychodynamic theory (i.e. attachment and early family dynamics) and incorporate mindfulness techniques whenever useful. I am particularly motivated to work with clients who are facing a transition, be it in career, relationship or life focus. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked for years in online media and entertainment. (Clients of mine in this field have expressed appreciation of my deep understanding of their unique challenges in the creative fields.)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A therapeutic relationship involves collaborating on your identified areas of change: defining, strategizing and refining your goals. As partners, you and I will communicate and develop awareness of resources. I will support your progress amid challenges and setbacks onto transformation. To be listened to without judgement is a powerful tool that can liberate you from outdated shame and reconnect to your own core values, strengths and dreams which make up the map for where to go next. At which time, you will likely fire me, and I will be happy for it.
