lex uses Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), a psychodynamic, experiential, and emotion-focused approach. Alex specializes in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, grief, and loss, as well as other emotional challenges.
My Background and Approach
Alex Carroll, LCSW, has a decade of experience providing therapy in a variety of mental health settings, working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. His training in emotionally focused, experiential, and psychodynamic approaches allows him to help clients explore and work through the underlying emotional conflicts driving their struggles. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston and his Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, where he developed a strong foundation in depth-oriented therapy. His clinical experience enables him to create a supportive and transformative space where clients can gain insight, build resilience, and experience lasting change. He completed a postdoctoral certification in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy through the New Washington School of Psychiatry.
