About My Clients
My clients come from many walks of life, and are often carrying experiences too heavy to hold alone, navigating relational ruptures or simply longing for deeper connections. Maybe they have tried therapy in the past, but feel that the process left them still feeling stuck and unfulfilled. I support teens and adults, helping clients and their loved ones grow their capacity for the fulfilling, nurturing relationships we all deserve. I work with individuals, parents, families and couples.
My Background and Approach
I believe that healthy relationships are the cornerstone of human wellness, and that all people have an innate capacity and drive towards healing, growth and connection. Therapy with me will explore what gets in the way, whether that's relational wounds, trauma, emotional dysregulation or the weight of systems that don’t support our wellbeing. Our work will be grounded in neurobiology, somatic approaches and attachment theory, and is responsive to the culture and lived experiences that shape who you are. My job is to hold a space that helps you access your innate healing potential. Our sessions will be trauma-informed, experiential, strengths-focused and tailored to your needs, drawing on tools from Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, IFS, and somatic therapies, as well as an explicitly relational, feminist, anti-racist, abolitionist and de-pathologizing stance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that tending to our mental health - and healing more broadly - is an inherently political and spiritual process. We cannot separate our well-being from the social and political forces that shape our lives, and sustaining our resilience, agency and belonging in the face of oppressive systems is vital to individual and collective health. I also believe that healing the roots of what ails us requires tending to the core relationship ruptures that define modern life for so many. Repairing our relationships to ourselves, to those around us, to land/place and to spirit/ancestry are important processes that help bridge the sometimes isolated work of therapy with the broader collective healing and liberation needed in this time. To that end, I see mental health counseling as part of a longer process for many clients, starting from personal nervous system and attachment repair, leading to increased community ties that ultimately sustain a more nourishing culture.
