About My Clients

I enjoy working with adult individuals on creating new patterns of behavior and cultivating connection and authenticity in alignment with their values. I help clients in finding their inner truth and understanding all the different parts of themselves. My clients are interested in self-development and healing, and are ready to take the next step in creating the life they want to live.

My Background and Approach

My most significant approach to therapy relies on Family Systems. That is, I believe that every individual is a part of a larger system, and that our experiences and relationships influence us. My style is relational and embodies openness, warmth, and a non-judgmental presence. I draw from several therapeutic modalities because there is no one-approach-fits-all. I also utilize narrative, psychodynamic, attachment, and mindfulness-based theories. I work simultaneously with symptom management and on the deeper-rooted distress patterns that have contributed to the current concerns. This often means that we will be looking at past experiences, including what happened in your childhood, as that has an important influence on who you are today. I aim to consider every aspect of a clients’ identity when exploring the impact societal messages have had on their perceptions of others, the world, and themselves.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we are all connected by our desire to be in healthy and meaningful relationships with ourselves and others. In our effort to do so, it is common to be impacted by anxiety, fear, hopelessness, interpersonal conflict, disconnection, and low self-esteem. Often, we need to address early life experiences and family dynamics that have affected us and continue to have an impact on us in the present. I also believe we all have a story--maybe that's a legacy story, an intergenerational story, or a personal story. By examining the stories we tell ourselves with compassion and curiosity, we develop a deeper understanding of how to create a new story. This often brings new patterns of behavior, new ways of thinking, and new ways of relating to yourself and others in an authentic and true way, whatever that means for you.
