About My Clients

Alex meets in person and virtually with teen and adult individuals, couples, and families. They explore a range of experiences including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, disability and chronic illness, financial trauma and insecurity, and sexuality and gender identity. They integrate mindfulness, somatic, narrative, relational, and cognitive behavioral therapies and attachment and social justice theories in their practice.

My Background and Approach

Alex has a unique ability to think outside of the status quo and generate new ideas. They hold realism, optimism, concern, and hope all at the same time, and think creatively with clients about personal challenges and imagined futures. They have an insightful ability to discuss topics from multiple angles, zooming in and out of an issue to gain perspective. Alex stays curious, honest, and encouraging in conversation, and asks questions that get at the complexity and meaning of things. Alex has over fifteen years of experience working with individuals and organizations on community organizing, breaking cycles of poverty, food justice, queer and trans rights, and the abolition of prisons and white supremacy. Alex holds two degrees - a Bachelor of Arts in Critical Theory and Social Justice from Occidental College, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Alex is a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Science
