My Background and Approach
I have a had a variety of trainings and experiences that i utilize to help client be able to grow, health and understand their story. I primarily use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered , and Progressive counting (PC). I have also had training working with Attachment Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. I work with a large range of population including 4-12 and 18-end of life, on a variety of issues and concerns that can arise during those times.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. I don't believe that there is a limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way as well as traumatic events that have caused open wounds. Which means that I think you can unlearn the faulty behaviors and replace them with healthy ones and heal the wounds the same as any other wound that we may have. As a child, I suffered from severe anxiety and had a traumatic experience. Through my own therapy, I learned how to handle my anxiety and move past it so that it didn't have control over me and close those wounds that were caused. I haven't had a panic attack in years, and I want you to feel the same freedom that I experience every day. I don't discriminate against anyone. I make it a point to participate in marches and community actions that support the Black Lives Matter community. If you want to learn
