Many men and young adults face challenges processing their feelings. I focus on men's issues and I can help you overcome the difficulties of expressing and understanding your emotions. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, intimacy issues, anger, depression, and schizoid personality disorder and adaptation. We'll work together to develop healthy coping mechanisms, improve communication skills, and gain a deeper understanding of your emotional landscape.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Psychoanalyst in New York and Certified Gestalt Psychotherapist. I hold a master’s degree in psychology from the City University of New York and a postgraduate diploma in advanced psychotherapy from the Gestalt Center in New York. I completed my 4-year postgraduate training in gestalt psychoanalysis at the outpatient clinic of the Gestalt Center working with people with personality disorders, traumas, anxieties, depression and substance abuse. I offer a safe and confidential space for individuals to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My clinical approach draws on modern psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapies. As a licensed psychoanalyst and certified gestalt therapist, I integrate object relations and gestalt theory to craft an approach that is right for you. We will look together at your thinking patterns, irritability, intimacy, affection, numbing and pushing away emotions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy hasn't always been welcoming to men due to societal expectations around masculinity. I understand these challenges and will create a safe space for you to explore your authentic self and express yourself freely without judgement. It's going to be a journey of self-discovery, and I'm here to guide you every step of the way. I believe access to mental health is a basic human right for all people. Everyone, whoever and wherever they are, has a deserving and inherent right to the highest attainable standard of mental health.
