About My Clients
My clients are tech workers, veterans, and communities of nerds, queer folks, sex positive and kinky, the neurodivergent, or others who feel on the edge of things. I recognize the unique stresses and anxieties that can be present in the day to day lives of people who often feel like they either don't fit in or don't fit in any longer and how we all want to feel happier in our lives.
My Background and Approach
I focus as a therapist on positive growth and change to help clients live their best lives. I understand that some people are looking to enhance their quality of life, become happier, or otherwise grow and change in new directions. Others struggle with difficulties, either at home, at work, or with friends and family. I'm not interested in treating people as broken or sick just because they are struggling or have questions. I believe we have a natural urge towards wholeness and growth, even at our lowest points or when we're the most troubled. I want to work with you to help find this and foster it. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, and attachment repair, and within the growing psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) movement for integration and support. I use secular mindfulness practices and have trained as a meditation instructor. My techniques and methods organically draw from many practices in therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a neurodivergent, cis, heterosexual man raised by other neurodivergent and queer family. I spent much of my younger years involved with neopaganism and Buddhism, as well as within the polyamorous community. My family and cohort have always been from within those groups, especially the queer community. I grew up a Gen X nerd who went into tech before realizing I could make more of a difference in the world by helping people as a therapist. I've had my share of my own therapy for depression, anxiety, and attachment issues in relationships. I have also been involved in the current renaissance of finding ways to use psychedelics, mindfulness meditation, and other practices to resolve issues. I want to encourage all clients to be their best selves and get the outcomes they want from this work. It isn't my role to tell you who or what you should be but to support you in your own growth and discovery.
