About My Clients
My experience includes supporting people with anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, LGBTQ+ related issues, adjustments and transitions, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. I currently work with teens, adults, couples, families, and groups. Currently I only work with clients aged 13 or older. Working with teens and young adults is something I particularly enjoy. I am happy to work with individuals who are committed to moving forward in pursuit of their therapeutic goals.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I have experience treating a variety of mental health needs, with special focus on anxiety, mood disorders, and ADHD. I use an integrative approach to therapy, often drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion focused therapy, solution focused therapy, somatic therapy, nature-based therapy, and animal assisted therapy. I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each client. I can meet with clients in our cozy office, or out on local trails for walk-and-talk nature-based sessions. My dog joins some sessions to offer an additional level of therapeutic support.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an advocate and a member of the LGBTQ community. I believe in the healing power of nature (there is now excellent research supporting this). I am passionate about animal welfare and am personally dedicated to giving my dogs their best possible lives.
