My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In the past I have worked in the transgender community to complete research on transgender identity development with the intention of understanding the unique challenges this population faces along with the strategies that have been beneficial for individual in order to provide information and guidance to professionals who may not be familiar with the community, identities, and treatment of this population that is often underserved and frequently victimized. I strive to remain open-minded and curious about all cultures, identities, and individuals to better understand the common values they share and the unique differences that define who they are. Within therapy, I often strive to help clients find balance within their lives allowing them to have flexibility in where they want to go, what they want to achieve, and who they would like to become in a collaborative approach.
