About My Clients
My clients begin therapy hoping to feel more confident and secure, especially around others. They’re often experiencing difficulties with self-esteem, relationships, and anxiety. They notice a good deal of fear in their lives, often worrying about rejection, judgment, and conflict. These fears have historically played a large role in the decisions they make and limitations they experience. I support clients in finding a greater sense of freedom and fulfillment in their lives and relationships.
My Background and Approach
I tend to take a soft approach and to prioritize safety and comfort before digging into anything that might feel difficult. At the same time, I provide direct feedback and share insights that can provide clarity and help you make important changes in your life. We will spend the first few sessions identifying the patterns, beliefs, and fears that have been holding you back. Our first goal will be to understand how these feelings and experiences developed, and to heal the wounds at their core. While we do this longer-term work, we will incorporate skills and strategies that may help reduce the barriers in real time.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all people are capable of healing. My priority is to create a safe environment where a client can bring their whole self–their identities, desires, fears, and beliefs–and never worry about judgment. I believe in equality, and know that therapy can be a powerful tool to fight racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination. Finding empathy for ourselves and others makes the world a safer, kinder place, and this is where our work in therapy begins.
