About My Clients
As a queer therapist, I use systemic approaches to explore how oppressive systems affect LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized groups. Issues like capitalism, white supremacy, and heteronormative standards impact all of us. In therapy, we can work together to unpack and challenge the internalized messages and negativity these systems create.
My Background and Approach
I believe that, although the human experience can be challenging, it holds the potential for deep meaning. My goal is to work with you to help you re-write your stories in order to create the meaning and connection you wish to see in your life. I take a collaborative approach and while I may pull techniques from various evidence-based practices, I believe that safety in therapeutic relationships takes time to foster. Thus, I primarily use narrative, existential-humanistic, and attachment-based approaches to help you untangle the many possibilities for relating to yourself and the world around you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As someone who grew up in Southern California, I love the green landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, although I find myself most excited when the sun comes out allowing me to be near the many bodies of water here in Oregon. I also love seeing live music, attending queer events, spending nights inside watching movies or television with my cat Buffy, and engaging in creative outlets.
