About My Clients
I am most passionate about working with individuals who live with the lasting effects of trauma. My clients also benefit from our work together addressing depression, anxiety, addiction, attachment disorders, relationship issues, and more. I am a relational therapist, so as a client of mine you will learn that I value the healing that can happen within the therapeutic relationship itself. My clients appreciate my collaborative approach as we work together make positive changes.
My Approach to Helping
I believe we all have the ability to heal and grow from our sources of wounding. We can attend to symptoms and issues that can arise from unresolved past experiences and current struggles. My collaborative therapeutic approach is rooted in mindful awareness and acceptance, informed by relational and attachment models, and guided by an appreciation of each person’s unique existential search for meaning. I aim to foster a space where you can engage in your present experience, show up as you are, and find awareness, choice, and support in the life that awaits you. You are a complex system of your experiences. We will work together for you to become more aware of yourself and discover possibilities for choosing a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship with yourself and others. Change can happen!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a relational therapist I am endlessly fascinated by the human experience and I view relationships to be of the utmost value to the processes of change. As social creatures we view ourselves in the context of others; often the quality or state of our closest relationships is the first indicator of our overall wellbeing (or lack thereof). By deep-diving into what motivates you and making positive changes that align with your personal values, the relationships in your life tend to improve dramatically thus further enhancing wellbeing. Looking through a psychodynamic lens I am particularly interested in how our early childhood relationships shape our current life experience. It can be extraordinarily moving to cultivate awareness of these connections and impacts.
