About My Clients
Many of my clients are trans and gender expansive individuals coming to therapy for an affirming space to navigate identity exploration, address anxiety and depression, and process trauma that's leaving them feeling stuck and isolated. They may be trying to understand their intersecting experiences of anxiety, OCD dynamics, ADHD, and gender feelings. I often work with emerging adults in their 20s and older adults, as well as folks involved in kink, ENM, fandom, and creative communities.
My Background and Approach
Since 2016, I have provided therapy to people seeking support across a wide variety of settings, from crisis units and schools to hospital and community clinics. I offer longer-term depth work as a primary therapist and can also provide adjunct EMDR therapy, brief EMDR therapy for stabilization after a recent traumatic event, and letters of support for surgery. My practice is in person in Oakland by Lake Merritt. I also see some clients for virtual sessions in other areas of California and Washington.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is most healing when we co-create a nonjudgmental space to explore how problems are showing up in our lives and to find our preferred ways of being in the world. Together we can work to lessen the weight of trauma on your life if you're feeling isolated, stuck in old patterns, or out of touch with your vitality and creativity. In a society increasingly filled with onscreen interactions, I value being able to offer in person therapy sessions. It's also important to me to be able to provide relational, depth therapy and specialized trauma treatment to LGBTQIA+ individuals who can't afford to pay for services out of pocket and who are seeking to access therapy through their insurance.
