About My Clients
I am especially passionate about serving the queer, trans and gender-non-conforming communities, the neurodivergent community, and those with religious trauma. My goal is to provide a safe and brave space where people can explore who they are, and who they wish to become. As an AuDHD late-diagnosed trans person, I create a therapy space that is low stress, sensory-aware, and laid back for adolescents, teens, and adults.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, it matters to me that you are seen, heard, and understood. I'm here to provide client-centered, trauma-informed and compassionate care. Part of compassionate care is me, meeting you where you're at. That means, I use a variety of "modalities" (styles) of therapy, picking the one that fits you best. I love to involve art, board games, RPGS, video games, music, and other interactive activities in session - but I'm okay with just talking, too. Some of my favorite modalities are narrative therapy, existential therapy, person-centered, and play therapy. A number of clients have pointed out that being a part of the community I serve has helped them feel more at ease sharing, knowing that "I get it."
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have done many things in my life, but the constant has been that I am a healer and voice for the voiceless or the oppressed. I've worked and studied conservation biology, later became a priest in the Episcopal Church, and have been a cook for both a preschool and an in-patient mental health facility. I believe that the ways we feel broken do not define us, and that hopeful defiance as a community is the way we can all thrive together.
