About My Clients
Women, Women of color and folks who have experienced trauma. The clients who seemingly have it all together, success at work but still lack passion in their heart or connection to something or someone outside themselves. Client who have had to wear armor to stay safe and keep a facade on that are ready for a safe space to exhale all the emotion, pain, trauma and life issues they've been holding on to. Folks in the middle of a transition or breakup who are looking to figure what comes next.
My Background and Approach
Aimee is a Los Angeles based licensed therapist, who is a passionate advocate for challenging mental health stigmas in communities of color. She is an LA native, with Mexicana and Salvadoreno roots, with a heart of gold. Aimee believes that the mind, body and soul are connected and healing happens when folks learn how to love healthily, cope, and cultivate resiliency while overcoming their adversity. She comes with 10 years experience working in the mental health field. Her goal is to keep the conversation around mental health and wellness simple, purposeful, relatable and trauma-informed. Her belief is that the more people know about their mental health and the impact it has in their lives and communities, the more we prioritize the practice of healing and self-care. She uses CBT, Narrative Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapies to help clients through understanding trauma and their trauma response. She is also EMDR trained.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up in a family that didn’t always believe in therapy, Aimee, recognized the need to rewrite this cultural narrative of healing and attention to emotional wellness in order to remind Latinx communities, communities of color and women (especially) that their mental health is wealth and healing has always been rooted in our spirit and overall wellness and self-care should always remain a top priority. We can make time for ourselves and fit healing in any aspect of our lives and grow and evolve into better versions of ourselves.
