About My Clients
Are you experiencing PTSD or anxiety? Are you a new mom struggling to adjust to the challenges of managing it all and taking care of yourself too? Are you a man struggling to feel like you are able to be effective in your daily life, in your relationship, or feeling like you need purpose in your days? I get it. I specialize in working with clients just like you. I have training in working with individuals suffering from PTSD and have a passion for helping men and women fighting to move forward.
My Background and Approach
I have been trained and certified in treating PTSD using Prolonged Exposure therapy, a Cognitive Behavioral approach to treating trauma. I am trauma-informed in all of my work. I have special experience in helping moms adjust to the newness of being a parent, including how to balance all the new hats they wear, while also navigating a partnership. In my own time, I have worked hard to learn more about the male experience or struggle and work hard to be able to make therapy achievable for men from all walks of life. I work with each of my clients individually to see them within the specific context of their own lives, meaning that my therapeutic approach is keenly tailored to your needs. I strive to teach you tools for moving forward managing your symptoms of depression and anxiety on your own. My utmost goal for each of my clients is to instill them with hope and resiliency in navigating the chaos of the human experience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I approach people with the understanding that no one can possibly understand their experiences in their lives as well as themselves. There are many things that are a part of the human condition still that tie us together with invisible strings. I see my clients as individuals and human above all, meaning that I encourage finding the likenesses between us and others, while understanding the innate differences still. I believe that each of us has a story that needs to be told and I genuinely enjoy helping clients make sense of the narratives involved in their own stories. I believe that with enough self-awareness, insight, and education we can take charge of our own lives and improve our mental health dramatically and I try to encourage and teach this to each of my clients.
