I specialize in helping those who struggle to manage distress in a healthy way. I help a client find ways to gain control over a situation, by helping them manage their own response.
I know the impact negative thoughts and core-beliefs has on an individual's self-esteem. I will help you become more aware of your internal dialogue by pointing out pitfalls in your thinking, then help you reframe unhealthy thoughts.
I am driven to help every person who walks in my office learn how to be mindfully aware of what's happening in the present moment. This means being aware of one's own feelings, thoughts, and senses. Knowing mindfulness will help you reduce painful feelings as they arise.
Going through sporadic and turbulent changes can prompt stress, anxiety and depression which can have a significant impact on your work, school, and relationships. I will provide emotional support, help you get back to your normal routine, and learn stress-management and coping skills to deal with any challenge that comes your way.
Triggers for anxiety and trauma can ignite uncomfortable and hurtful memories. Avoiding these triggers is a normal reaction to the stressor, yet often ineffective. Avoidance and distractions provide temporary relief, but understanding the causes, and having tools will lessen the intensity overtime. Holistic treatment begins with nourishing one's body, spirit and soul. It may start with reconnecting to your loved ones, doing something that gives you a sense of enjoyment, and face your fears.
I offer a comforting space and insight into what's happening in their brain and body for those who feel more intensely about the world around them, and overwhelmed with stimuli. This can be stressful at times, thus I will introduce grounding and mindfulness techniques to help you establish clarity and calmness within.
