About My Clients
You’re tired. Emotions feel too big. Anxiety keeps getting in the way of your life. Your relationships have felt so negative- you often experience a stress response. It’s hard to find your voice and feel heard… These habits may not be the true you- it may be a stress response, like fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. Some of our habits and qualities that don’t feel authentic are often trauma responses. I’m here to help you manage the stress of these experiences and learn new, healthy ways of being.
My Background and Approach
The may tools I have to help you have been accumulated throughout my career. I My goal is to empower you to feel confident that you have tools to get relief when you need it and have an understanding of why they help with some science to back it up. We will work together to process life experiences that have led to frequent stress. I have engaged in many trainings throughout my career that have given me multiple treatment approaches, and I've been privileged to witness them work for many people. I use emotion regulation skill building, mindfulness, healthy relationship skill building, EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), and CBT tools (cognitive behavioral therapy). We can use EMDR to target specific stressors or traumas that you wish to process and release the power of these traumatic experiences in your life. I want the people I help to thrive, not just survive.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans are equal and should have equitable access to resources and tools that will help them thrive regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, abilities, and socioeconomic status. So many groups of humans are simply surviving because of inequalities. Seeing such inequalities in my experience throughout my career has greatly shaped my perspective. Social justice advocacy is important to me. I know that being in any marginalized group impacts mental health, specifically with such traumas resulting in anxiety.
