About My Clients
Whether exploring counseling for the first time, or seeking a new therapist or clinical supervisor, thank you for considering me. I am kink aware and sex and body positive and have focused much of my practice on trans, non-binary and queer health. I offer individual counseling to adults and teens and couples/relationship counseling. I am offering a reduced fee program staffed by graduate student interns starting in 2022. My Background and Approach
I want to help you blaze your trail and achieve positive outcomes in your journey of growth and self-actualization! I strive to build safe therapeutic relationships with my clients, which research shows leads to better therapy outcomes. I offer individual counseling to adults and teens and couples/relationship counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are innately driven to grow and overcome obstacles through the resolution of trauma and other adverse experiences. Sometimes, we need support navigating barriers to our progress. Across a three-decade career I have spent many years advocating for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals while sharing knowledge and mentoring new counselors in challenges specific to intersectionality and discrimination among a range of underrepresented populations. I have worked as a high-level administrator in both academic and social service settings and taught graduate and undergraduate level courses. In my most recent role as Director of Counseling Services at the National University of Natural Medicine and in private practice, I thrived when working with creative, nonconforming individuals.
