Many people feel like they aren’t living the life they always wanted. Maybe they don’t feel close to the people they love. Maybe they’re always stressed and can never relax. Maybe there are specific struggles like addiction or getting angry too easily. Most of us have places where we want to improve. I help you figure out what's holding you back and find solutions to get where you want to go.
My Background and Approach
I take a trauma perspective with most of my clients. This perspective doesn't assume you have lots of violence or neglect in your live, though you might. What I like about this perspective is that what you are doing is meant to be protective. Your habits developed as a means of protecting and serving you, only now they aren't succeeding anymore. They aren't bad or wrong, just not attuned to place you are in life now. I use a lot of mindfulness techniques to help you become aware of your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. Then I help you learn to change or regulate them until you are acting in ways that support your values and who you want to be.
