Developing healthy relationships with others and with ourselves can have an impact on many other aspects of our lives. Often times, it's not how we feel that is problematic in a relationship, but rather how we communicate it to others. By understanding our communication patterns, and identifying what works, and was doesn't, we can learn new skills that improves how we communicate with others, such as making requests, saying no, and feeling confident in doing so.

Living with depression is painful. The suffering can at times feel unbearable, and we cannot just "snap out of it." As your therapist, I will bring genuine compassion, caring and empathy, while working with you to climb out of this uncomfortable space. I am trained in CBT and other modalities that are evidenced based as effective treatments for depression, and I will be sure to meet you where you are at in your journey to find the right approach for you.

Anxiety is a normal emotion, that we all experience to some degree. Anxiety can motivate action and be useful while in a healthy range. However, Anxiety can quickly escalate and become debilitating, interfering with day to day functioning and getting in the way of our success. In my approach, I will teach you how to recognize anxiety, label it, and identify where it is useful and where it is causing harm. You will then learn specific skills and techniques to reduce your anxiety.

Sometimes a brief approach to therapy is all that is needed. A Solutions Focused approach can facilitate change. It is a goal-oriented, collaborative, and evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on finding solutions to problems rather than analyzing their causes.

Through motivational interviewing, I will work with you to find the motivation to change your behavior. It's a strengths-based approach that assumes you have the ability to change and will empower you to make the changes you desire.

CBT will focus on how thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect feelings and actions. The goal of CBT is to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, learn self-help strategies, and change your behavior.
