My Background and Approach
Healing from trauma isn't linear, and I don't treat it like it is. I start where you are, not where a textbook says you should be. In our work together, we'll go at your pace. Some sessions we might look at the thoughts and patterns that have built up around a painful experience and gently start to shift them. Other times we might explore different parts of yourself, the ones that learned to protect you, even when those protections stopped serving you. And sometimes the work is simpler: figuring out what you actually need right now and building toward it, one step at a time. I use approaches that are research-backed and proven to work for trauma, anxiety, and the particular weight that comes with navigating life as an LGBTQ+ person. But the techniques always follow you, not the other way around.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a member of and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. I believe affirming care isn't a specialty add-on, it's the foundation of ethical practice. I am committed to anti-oppressive, culturally responsive therapy that honors the full complexity of who you are.
