About My Clients
I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for those dealing with sexual orientation-related concerns, including coming out, processing trauma, and overcoming domestic violence. I work with veterans transitioning to civilian life and those managing PTSD. I also work with men and navigating men's issues. Whether you're facing anxiety, mood disorders, or life transitions, my goal is to help you feel more in control and grounded.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my path into therapy began with a deep personal commitment—I was awarded grant funding to engage in my own therapeutic work for three plus years before entering the field. That foundation informs the empathy and understanding I bring to every session. Clinically, I’ve worked in high-intensity settings, including emergency rooms and ICUs during the COVID-19 pandemic, where I supported patients and families through crisis, grief, and uncertainty. I also have experience in psychiatric hospitals, treating individuals with a wide range of diagnoses, including mood, anxiety, psychotic, and personality disorders. Additionally, I’ve worked closely with individuals and families impacted by traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, helping them adapt and find strength through overwhelming change. My diverse experience allows me to meet clients where they are—with compassion, practical tools, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I bring my whole self to this work, and that includes the values and passions that shape who I am. I have a deep love for animals—especially dogs and horses—and find grounding in spending time outdoors. Nature, animals, and meditation are core parts of how I stay connected and present, and I often encourage clients to explore these tools as part of their healing process. I'm active in the LGBTQ+ community and advocate for equal rights and representation. I’m also passionate about men’s mental health and breaking the stigma around emotional expression and vulnerability, especially for those who’ve grown up with rigid expectations. Coming from a family with many veterans, I hold a strong connection to the veteran and active duty community and understand the unique challenges they face. These parts of my identity influence my work and help me create a therapy space that’s warm, open, and truly supportive.
