About My Clients
If you are ready to take action and regain control your life; ready to make healthier choices; ready to address past hurts and trauma; ready to develop the skills needed to achieve your largest, most impactful life goals, then I may be a right fit for you!! Throughout much of my professional career I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families overcome issues such as managing life stressors, anxiety, depression, coming out, self-harming behaviors and much more.
My Background and Approach
I am Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern, ISW 13424 and is under the clinical supervision of Dena Paniccia, LCSW QS14127. I have already passed my exam for licensure and was previously licensed in the State of Massachusetts but had to re-complete the process here in FL due to differences in their licensing requirements. I obtained my Master of Social Work degree with a focus in clinical therapy with individuals, families & groups from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. I completed Bachelor of Social Work degree from Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts as well. Since being here in Florida I have served as a Clinician and Assistant Director at The Sterling Center in Fort Myers, FL. I strive to meet the individuals I serve where they are at in their process of change, by “keeping it real” and by relying on my clients’ innate strengths. I believe in an electric approach to treatment several different treatment modalities (CBT, DBT, MI, SFT, TF-CBT, Etc).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change can happen for anyone and a lot of time the behaviors and tendencies we engage in are learned as a means to cope, feel connected, feel seen, feel important or otherwise get our needs met. I believe that with a cognizant effort and the right supports, we can overcome and alter these behaviors in a way that suits the life we are choosing to live. I believe in social justice and inclusivity. I believe that our culture is very much so the root of who we are as people , whether it be the culture we are born into or the culture that we have chosen to adopt. I believe that it is my responsibility to work diligently in leaning about the cultural backgrounds my clients come from and in ALWAYS being non-judgmental in doing so. I am an active participant and ally of the LGBTQ+ community. One of my most significant professional goals is serve this population with a cultural awareness that will provide a safe and comfortable environment for my clients to feel free.
