I work with those who have had recent sexual abuse or rape; within the last couple of years. I also work with those who have sexual abuse or rape that has happened at any time in life. The pain, anxiety, and depression that is caused from sexual trauma almost feels like to much. I am here to let you know there is help. Your experience does not have to stay this way. You may struggle with your sex life with your partner due to sexual trauma from your past. You may recognize how debilitating your past trauma is making you with anxiety, intense fear, or feelings of disgust with the topic of sex or intercourse with another. You may feel you rape or sexual assault was your fault? This is a common thought. I am hear to tell you it was not your fault. Coping skills will be utilized before moving forward with letting go of your trauma.

Sexual assault and rape victims are often left with intense fear or anxiety through out the days, weeks and months after the incident. These levels of anxiety get in the way of day to day living. There can be many reminders from tv shows, movies, to mere mentions of sex or rape. It can be hard to have memories pop up when you don't want them to. I strive to help you utilize copings skills and reduce your anxiety levels before working on memories so disturbing memories can stop.

I am a certified EMDR therapist since 2019. I have used EMDR as a main focus in sessions since 2019 to help many process and let go of traumatic memories. Art therapy is a wonderful way to express hidden feelings that are difficult to tap into. There are many different ways to be creative with art therapy to provide the client ways to express and process emotional pain. I have utilized art therapy since 2018 and find this a wonderful for those who struggle to focus on trauma directly.

I have helped others move past traumatic experiences with rape and/or sexual abuse. I utilize EMDR and other therapies to provide coping skills as preparation before working on the trauma. I strive to meet who I am working with where they are.

I have worked with those in relationships that are affected by rape and sexual assault. As this impacts their sex life and other intimate moments in their relationships relief is provided by working on past traumas of rape and/or sexual abuse. I have worked with this population for some years.

Much anxiety can come from past traumas in regard to family circumstances and life events. Sexual abuse is one of them but a focus on how anxiety started from the past is the beginning. As the client becomes more self aware of the past and present we are better able to utilize coping skills and work on past traumas. I have worked with this population for the previous four years.

I utilize DBT in my work to help intense emotions like anxiety and depression become more manageable. In DBT there is a way to work though thoughts to better help how you feel. I have used this in practice since about 2018 and have found it effective for others.

CBT is a wonderful way to connect how we feel with what we think. When we are able to successfully change how we think about relationships or situation with events. We are able to change how we feel.
