About My Clients
I do my best work with adult-diagnosed and self-diagnosed neuroqueer folks who feel as though they need a therapist with lived experience who can understand them and help them find tangible ways of coping, healing, and thriving. I tend to work with autistic folks, ADHDers, bipolar, disabled folks, queer individuals and relationships, mixed-neurotype relationships, trauma, shame, and the overly-self-aware.
My Background and Approach
I take an intersectional and affirming approach to therapy, pulling from queer and narrative theories, EMDR and somatic processing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I believe that our relationship is collaborative and that people are not problems - the problem is the problem and together we can find effective ways of contending with it. Making change can be exhausting, and I firmly believe that you're worth the effort it takes to feel better, to live a life aligned with your values and goals despite the horrors, and that you deserve to function in a way that works for you. My hope is that together we can find new ways of coping, healing, living, and thriving - and not just surviving.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a leftist, anti-capitalist, and anti-oppressive therapist -- I believe that we cannot think our way out of oppression, that the systems are the problem and not the people, that community is healing, and that my job is to help you live within your values and help you thrive in spite of the horrors.
