About My Clients
You would find me a good fit if you are someone who wants to engage healing at the individual and collective level with a systemic, anti-racist, and embodiment-focused lens. You may identify as someone who has experienced trauma and are aware of how the symptoms of how difficult it is to feel safe. You may be someone who's struggling with finding belonging, feeling content, or claiming your identity. You may be an activist/organizer working to cultivate personal change.
My Background and Approach
I believe that you are the expert in your life and you already have what you need to heal. My job is to know and support the process of tapping into what's there. I can help you connect with the parts of you waiting to be healed and integrated so you can be the person you want to be. I honor the resources that you bring to therapy and work with you to incorporate them in your healing. My presence with you and the therapeutic relationship is my primary focus. I strive to be aware of my own intersections of privilege and oppression and I work to show up authentically so that you are empowered to do the same. The interventions I draw upon view the human as whole and incorporate the latest research on trauma. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Janina Fisher's Trauma-Informed Stabilization Therapy (TIST). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) Level I and II. I will soon be IFS Level I certified.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that life presents us with the journey of healing. When we choose to embark on this journey we uncover the stories of our how we have experienced hurt and are reliving the memories of these wounds. We see these wounds reflected in the patriarchal, racist, white supremacist, consumerist systems we're a part of. We notice the effects of these systems on our ancestors and our Selves. As we peel off the layers of this healing we come closer to our true Selves - finding new, healthier ways of being in the world and contributing to the healing our world needs. I continue to be on this journey for myself and find joy and meaning in guiding and supporting people in their journeys. I enjoy being out in nature, camping, mountain-biking, and working on and riding my motorcycles.
