About My Clients
I believe the individuals and couples I work with are all inherently capable of change. Change unfolds in layers, unpacking those layers can help create a life of authentic expression. My intention is to provide a space for you to acknowledge and honor your inner knowing. A space that cultivates curiosity, consciousness and embodiment in manifesting the change you are seeking.
My Background and Approach
“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us” – David Richo. Many of us struggle with the wounds of our past, the pain that we might be struggling with in our present, or the uncertainty of our future. Change can be scary; and sometimes it can feel easier to stay in the known, even when that brings fear, pain, or resentment. You being here recognizes that there is a part of you that is interested in changing. I come to you as a woman of color, a child of Indian immigrants, a mother, and a therapist – these roles influence my approach. I view my role as someone to help you gain access to your inner wisdom – a part of you that may be covered up in shame or fear, a part of you that has the potential to become a resource and guide to you in times of joy as well as pain, and a part of you that you may not believe exists.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Healing is a sacred journey that deserves a holistic approach. When trying to make positive change in our life it is important to acknowledge the interconnection of our body, mind, emotions, and sense of self. I view therapy as a collaborative process where we both bring insight and knowledge into the room. All your parts are welcome - those you easily acknowledge as well as those wrapped up in shame. My approach is rooted in existential, psychodynamic and attachment frameworks. I draw from mindfulness, IFS, narrative, somatic, DBT and CBT techniques to explore, honor and accept all parts of self. Maneuvering through the world can be a challenge; you don’t have to do it alone.
