Whether it is our parents or ourselves, aging presents a variety of life changes that we desire or have to contend with. As an older therapist, I have experience with later life issues including parent illnesses and decline, relationship and career changes.

Life is full of transitions, we are never really stagnant unless we are stuck and need to determine how to move forward. There are however, certain common developments along the way so we can figure out good ways of coping with such issues as unemployment, job loss, marriage and divorce, child rearing, grief and loss, and family issues among others.

I have been a part of the LGBTQ community since the late 1970s so have witnessed a lot of social and political transformation. This includes personal identity and family issues as well which is the more therapeutic work to be done.

I studied at the Art Therapy program at Notre Dame de Namur in Northern CA which is a dual degree program, licensed as MFT. We use drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, photography. We may add writing or other expressive arts.

I co-led a DBT skills group at my internship site and continue to integrate aspects into therapy with clients. I intend to pursue more training in this area.

I enjoy working with couples to understand and overcome obstacles in the relationship. I have been through some myself, so I understand the benefits of having more understanding between partners.
