About My Clients

My clients range in age from mid 20s to 70. I particularly enjoy working with clients who may be navigating creativity, relationship issues, job or career changes, LBGTQ issues, retirement and involvement with aging family members. My internship sites included elementary school students with substance abuse in the family, a LGBTQ community center and two San Francisco low-fee counseling centers. These experiences gave me exposure to a variety of life issues.

My Background and Approach

Prior to studying to become a therapist, I worked as a graphic designer and photographer. This led me to study art therapy as a helpful modality with clients in addition to talking. I take a person-centered approach along with DBT skills, some psychodynamic for background work and other counseling approaches. I studied some Imago counseling for couples and will continue to be trained in other types of therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in social change. This includes feminism, LGBTQ rights, racial politics, environmentalism and rebalancing other inequities in society.
