About My Clients
I love to work with activists, academics, community organizers, therapists, and people interested in linking personal healing and social change. I am a specialist in treating PTSD and I often integrate parts work and somatics into my sessions. I am always learning and I'm eager to get to know you. I hope you'll bring your hurt, anxiety, and sadness, alongside your creativity, goofiness, and your joy.
My Background and Approach
I am a community organizer and clinical social worker and I draw from both lineages to create healing at the intersection of mental health and social change. I am warm, down to earth, and a nerd about learning - working with me means we get to learn about you and the world and apply cutting edge research to support you in feeling better. I am trained in EMDR, Narrative Therapy, parts work, polyvagal theory, and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. But more important than the ever changing alphabet soup of trainings, I am interested in being a grounded, inviting,a nd compassionate presence for each person and couple in my office. We'll laugh together, nerd out together, and take meaningful steps towards healing together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I got into therapy because I wanted to go deep with individual people and couples after many years of campaign based community organizing. I've shut down the ICE detention center, the Minnesota state capital, and highways in the service of racial and economic justice. But the most meaningful professional work I've done has been in my office building relationships with people who want to see beyond their suffering towards a life of more connection, vulnerability, and ease. I am passionate about linking individual and collective healing and eager to get to know you!
