About My Clients
I have had the privilege of supporting individuals of all ages with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, stress, phase of life transitions, and many more. You can expect a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard, understood, and accepted with me. I hope to empower you with your inner resources to build resiliency and lead a purposeful, balanced life.
My Background and Approach
My journey to being a therapist began working in residential mental health treatment. Following my experience in residential treatment, I began doing crisis work with youth and Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services before moving into full-time therapy. My education has given me a well-rounded background that has been integral in my work as a therapist. Before obtaining my master’s degree in clinical counseling, I received three bachelor’s degrees focusing on criminal justice (victimology emphasis), psychology, writing, and English. While using approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, and strengths-based perspectives, I am passionate about supporting you in developing strategies to cope with life challenges and foster positive change to enhance your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A core value I hold is the importance of self-care. Although self-care looks different for everyone, it can be foundational to living a fulfilling life. I will support you in developing practices to meet your individual needs, whether that’s through mindfulness, physical activity, creative outlets, or other forms of self-nourishment. I firmly believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, where exploration of your unique experiences, strengths, and goals is at the forefront of our work together. In my free time, I love to read, write, listen to music, spend time outdoors and spend time with family and friends. I also have four rescue animals that keep me busy and bring so much joy to my life!
