About My Clients
I offer support to adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, and especially enjoy supporting clients navigating life transitions and loss. I work to help people recognize their strengths, look honestly at their challenges, and gain deeper understanding of themselves.
My Background and Approach
As a licensed clinical social worker, I work with clients to consider the impact of systems on their own personal distress. No single approach gives people the perfect tools to address their pain, so I enjoy collaborating with clients to incorporate their own skills, strengths, and practices to design the best approach for them. My care is trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and weaves together tools from other evidenced-based methods including CBT and ACT. To empower my clients towards change and healing, I utilize a person-centered approach and will join you with warmth, empathy and compassion. My hope is to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space for exploration, curiosity, and transformative collaboration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly in the capacity for growth and change, and understand that the pain we carry usually develops from unhelpful stories that we've learned to tell ourselves over time. These stories - which we often learn through the systems we operate within - can impact the way we move, react and connect, and can sometimes keep us stuck. I think we can grow by understanding how our stories started, by noticing the powerful information that our body gives us about our emotional pain, and by working to deconstruct and re-write our stories in a way that leaves us feeling more empowered and authentic.
