My Background and Approach
Hello, I’m Abbey—a licensed clinical social worker specializing in anxiety/depression, trauma, and family issues. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My objective is to create a safe place to discuss what is important to you in your life and work together toward your goals for the therapeutic process. My approach most often combines techniques from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and mindfulness counseling, but I’m able to customize treatment to meet your specific needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have provided individual, group, and family therapy in a variety of settings throughout my career. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a number of different mental health diagnoses struggling with stressors such as family challenges, trauma, grief/loss, school/work stress, and navigating relationships. These extensive experiences in community, residential, inpatient, and outpatient environments helped me become a well-rounded clinician able to tailor effective treatment plans for each one of my clients.
