About My Clients
Everyone needs someone to talk to from time to time. Whether you've been facing conflicts with your family members, feeling like you're drifting through each day at work, or you (or your child) have been struggling with social issues in school, we all tend to feel better after having the chance to work through our feelings with someone who "gets it." Let's work together to get you back on track.
My Background and Approach
My work with families over the last 15 years has covered everything from ADHD, depression and anxiety to intricate family secrets and struggles with effective communication. I've worked with families working through foster care and adoption issues, coparenting and other relationship conflicts, and challenges with complex social service systems. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life and the best that I can do is help them to get a better sense of the various factors affecting them each day. It's not my job to tell a client what they should do; rather, I work with my clients to play out different scenarios and figure out the choices that make the most sense for them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don't believe that any one person has all the answers to life's problems; it's one of the reasons that there are so many different explanations for the challenges we all face each day. But I do believe that, with proper guidance and a strong support system, any person can learn how to bring their unconscious desires to the forefront of their thoughts and take on a more active role in choosing their life's path. I'm also a firm believer that "dad jokes" are an integral part of a healthy sense of humor and that laughter is often a key to unlocking one's vulnerabilities.
