About My Clients
One of the most challenging things to do sometimes is to ask for help. Seeking out a therapist is no different; maybe even more challenging. In reaching out and embracing counseling, you could learn and develop new skills for dealing with stress, anxiety and depression, more effective ways of coping, and improve self-esteem. In whatever you're battling, I hope you embrace this first step of your healing journey toward a healthier life. Take a moment to call or email to see how I can help you.
My Background and Approach
I am a recent graduate of the Mental Health Counseling program at UIndy. While in my program, I interned at the Cancer Support Community where I received great experience as a therapist, and learned great ways to connect and help those who were in need. I am currently working in private practice at Barber Mental Health Associates as a virtual therapist providing a judgment free space that is comforting and accepting to all. I specialize in anxiety, depression, grief, and self-esteem issues. As well as, experience in dealing with the difficulties of cancer for both patients and caregivers.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in giving back to the community and finding any way I can to help. As part of my previous internship, I started and facilitate a black male group for cancer patients and caregivers. I have been facilitating both groups since late 2023, and the constantly hear how much these groups matter to the small demographic. If this is something that would interest you, or someone you know, you can call or text (317-721-7872) or email (aaron@cancersupportindy.org) regarding the groups.
