About My Clients
I thoroughly enjoy working with couples and families to address relational conflict leading to greater levels of intimacy and overall relational satisfaction. I also enjoy working with individuals who may be processing trauma related to relational conflict from adulthood as well as during childhood, especially related to domestic violence or abuse.
My Background and Approach
My style includes providing empathy, compassion, and validation while also holding clients accountable to their relational, emotional, and mental goals. One of my strengths is being able to help clients improve their self-awareness, helping them to identify patterns of behavior that may hinder them from achieving the outcomes they desire. My approach to therapy includes collaboration where the therapist and client work together, helping to decrease the power differential that often shows up in therapy. I also incorporate a trauma-informed and systemic lens where I explore intersectionality as well as the environmental factors that may impact how clients express themselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being a Black Christian woman, I'm passionate about helping to destigmatize the importance and value of therapy within the Black community as well as being able to provide a space where race and faith can co-exist. It brings me joy to assist Black couples, families, and individuals in becoming whole to prevent intergenerational cycles from continuing to future generations. Although I identify as being a Black Christian woman, I am open to clients of all races, ethnicities, religious backgrounds as well as any other demographic I may not necessarily belong to.
