Others may describe you as cold or distant, yet from the inside nothing seems wrong. This schizoid personality disorder test is an educational screening, not a diagnosis: it measures social detachment and muted emotional expression, then shows your score and what to do next.

Using the key below, please indicate how much each statement has applied to you over the past 12 months. (Scale: 1 = Not at all, 2 = A little bit, 3 = Moderately, 4 = Quite a bit, 5 = Extremely)

Schizoid Personality Disorder Test Built on DSM-5-TR and ICD-11

DSM-5-TR describes seven schizoid traits, while ICD-11 groups similar features under Detachment. Your total shows how strongly long-standing patterns in closeness, solitude, pleasure, and reactions to other people match that framework, with low desire for closeness at its core.

How the seven DSM-5-TR schizoid traits map onto ICD-11 Detachment
Detachment ICD-11 trait domain 6D11.1

Social detachment

Keeping away from social contact, friendships, and intimacy

  • 1 Neither wants nor enjoys close relationships, even with family
  • 2 Almost always picks solitary activities
  • 3 Little or no interest in sex with another person
  • 5 No close friends or confidants beyond first-degree relatives

Emotional detachment

Reserve, aloofness, and a narrow range of feeling and expression

  • 4 Few activities, if any, bring pleasure
  • 6 Appears indifferent to praise or criticism
  • 7 Comes across as cold, distant, or emotionally flat

Numbers follow the order of the DSM-5-TR criteria.

PID-5 Detachment in Adult Schizoid Traits

The PID-5 trait model organizes detachment through Withdrawal, Intimacy Avoidance, Anhedonia, and Restricted Affectivity. This test, for adults 18 and older, turns those facets into statements about relationships, free time, sex and romance, pleasure, praise and criticism, and emotional reactions. It adds statements on work, help-seeking, and how long and how widely the pattern shows up. One limit: the score can’t separate schizoid detachment from look-alikes such as avoidant personality disorder or autism.

Intimacy Responses Stay Private

Your answers, including those about sexuality, romance, and family, are not collected or stored. They stay on your device while you take the quiz, and only the final score is kept, anonymized, for statistics used to improve the tool.

Detachment Score Meaning from 20 to 100

Responses score 1 to 5; reverse-coded statements are flipped, then all 20 answers are summed to 20-100 and placed in 20-39, 40-59, 60-79, or 80-100. Higher totals reflect more schizoid detachment. Reversed statements capture retained pleasure and emotional connection, including missing close people after long periods apart; lower totals reflect more of those connections.
