Online Counseling Search Results on TherapyDen are about to Get a lot Better

TherapyDen is excited to announce that clients visiting the website will soon be able to find online counselors much more easily. After a client enters their zip code when searching for a therapist, they are shown all the therapists that have offices near them. As of July 1, visitors will have the option to view only therapists that provide online counseling services. If they toggle the switch (pictured below) to show online therapists, they'll be provided with search results including every therapist in their state that provides online services, instead of only showing therapists that are in their neighborhood. This will provide clients with a lot more options and allow therapists to offer their services throughout their entire state, and through other states where they are licensed!
But here's the thing. The only way for you to show up in these new online counseling search results is to login right now and update your listing. It just takes a minute and is fun to do! Well maybe it's not "fun" fun. But it sure is satisfying clicking a few buttons that will allow you to attract more clients come July.
All you need to do is go to your account page and click on Online Services on the left sidebar (pictured below). Once there, choose the state that you're licensed in, enter your license number and if you accept insurance, select the insurance providers that you're in-network with. That's it! And if you're licensed in more than one state, just repeat the process by clicking on the Add State button. It couldn't be easier.
And yes, you must do this even if you have previously selected Online Services as a service you provide. In order to be found in these new search results in July you must login and update your profile.
Do you want to show up at the top of online search results?
Online therapy search results will be randomized. But if you want to be displayed at the top of the heap, all you need to do is upload an intro video. TherapyDen profiles with videos will be prioritized in search results and displayed before other profiles that don't have videos. Clients want a preview of what it will be like to talk to you over video chat. We want to meet the client's needs by providing them first with therapists that can give them a peek into what that'll be like. So if you haven't already uploaded a video, upload one to youtube and copy and paste that link into your profile.
Don't stress too much about what you should include in the video. One or two minutes in length will do. Here are some ideas of what you can include:
- Say hello and briefly state your license and credentials
- Focus on your ideal client niche and empathize with what they might be feeling at this moment
- Provide a short explanation of why you could be a good fit for their presenting issues
- End it with a call to action that encourages them to reach out if they have any questions or want to make an appointment
