Reclaiming the Creative Self is an 8-week group designed for adults who want to reconnect with creativity and self expression as a way of coming back to themselves. A licensed, board-certified art therapist will guide participants through art-making and group reflection to work with creative blocks, the inner critic, and what it means to have a creative voice that belongs to you.
Each session follows a consistent structure: open with an art warm-up, move into a brief discussion, spend the heart of the session in a prompted art therapy experiential, and close with group processing and reflection.
The eight weeks have their own arc: We start grounded, using mindfulness-based art making to settle in, build present-focused awareness, and open the door to creative flow state. In the middle weeks, things get more playful and experimental. We try different art processes, stretch comfort zones, and let ourselves be surprised by what we're capable of. The final two sessions turn toward integration, exploring artistic identity and how to build a sustainable creative practice that's genuinely your own.
The Details:
- Meets virtually (SimplePractice telehealth) for 8 weeks (starts July 31st, ends September 18th)
- Closed group limited to max of 6 participants
- 90-minute group, Fridays from 9-10:30 AM
- No art experience necessary, this group is open to all individuals regardless of art training/background
- Cost is $100 per group session (reduced fee may be available, reach out to inquire)
